Autumn 23

With a lot going on, it seemed like a good idea to start a news section of my website where I could pop updates up here on the fly without faffing around in multiple pages. So here it is! The first ever blog post.

I’m no particular wordsmith, so I’m just going to fire updates onto here mainly about festivals and new work I’m taking on, and I suppose I’ll then let the editing do the talking.

Festival News: Jellyfish and Lobster has had a strong few months, winning the Audience Award at Encounters, Best Film at Soul Fest, receiving a nomination for Best British Film at Norwich and British Short Film Awards. I’m actually off tonight to the ceremony of the latter, where I’m nominated for Best Editing. J & F is also off to screen at Leeds, Aesthetica and St Louis festivals this week.

In Love and Suffering is premiering at Norwich Film Festival where it is nominated for Best Short Doc. And finally it was amazing to watch Lionhead, produced by the Star Imagine scheme in collaboration with NFTS, premiere at the BFI London Film Festival last month.

And The Storm, made with dear friends and collaborators Piano Factory Films, is off the mark, winning Best Dark Comedy at NRFF. We’ve just got news that it’s got into a very exciting festival, but that’ll have to stay quiet for now!

Work news: Editing finished a couple of months ago on Grave Error, which is now in Sound Post and the Grade. This week I am locking Hungry Like The Wolf (working title) and Red Planet Blue (also a wt!), before beginning a short doc called King Putt next week.

That’s all for now!
